Residential Design and Visualization
Samuel Marshall - Designer and 3D Modeler
Many homeowners looking to remodel their home have hesitated when not having the power of visualization. A builder or designer may use descriptions, samples, sketches, or CAD drawings that at times aren't quite enough to give the customer the confidence to give the green light.
My name is Samuel Marshall, and I want to provide for you the power of visualization. My design process is a collaborative one; each home should reflect the style and taste of the residents which may or may not be congruent to contemporary trends. With the process of conversation, and the power of visualization, I create an interactive 3D model of your property that becomes our design playground for visualizing your dream home.
"The Power of the Model."
With sophisticated 3D software, remodel visions come to life. Instantly compare different paint options, countertop and tile surfaces, or even see how an entire addition transforms the home.
Equipped with a Design Guide, Contractors and Builders will know your vision and my design, resulting in far fewer surprises in budget and outcome. All with the Power of the Model.

Japanese Spa Bathroom Makeover - Before
This bathroom was recently remodeled by the previous homeowner, but unfortunately not to the taste of the current one. The customer wanted to keep the basic layout, especially the shower with its convenient and universal design.
Japanese Spa Bathroom Makeover - Before
I liked the storage and counter space of this His & Hers (although I did consider turning the right side into a floor-to-ceiling cabinet). The single mirrors and left wall create a lot of unused space though, so I addressed that in my design.
Japanese Spa Bathroom Makeover - After
My Japanese spa-inspired design includes a Wyndham Collection tub, Horow Smart Toilet, and an addition with picture window offering privacy and tranquility. Teak wood throughout is both gorgeous and moisture-resistant.
Japanese Spa Bathroom Makeover - After
Here the larger mirror and 19th CE Japanese print fill out the space and provide luxury and thematic consistency. The countertop is a beautiful Viva Calacatta Diana Cobalt quartz, with Anzzi Tara glass sinks in Sapphire Burst.
Sometimes just a fresh coat of paint will do.
Color alone can completely change the mood of the room while staying budget-friendly.

Outdoor Grill Remodel
I had a stunning Rainforest Green countertop picked out for this design, but I couldn't find one available in nearby slab yards. We then went to my friends at Toluca Granite looking for remnants. We found this beautiful piece and with The Power of the Model we were able to visualize the finished product. This bold piece fits beautifully with the various trees and Corso Italia Flagstone Gold porcelain pavers.
Rock Rose Landscaping installed the pavers and built the cooking station, and Shoreline Floors installed the countertop and finalized the grill installation.
Backyard Transformation
For this design my customer asked for complete transformation of the backyard, so I threw everything and the kitchen sink at it! I replaced the exterior wall with a window wall, added a 2nd floor balcony, elevated deck surrounded by corten steel planters (an Austin, Texas modern classic), and an outdoor cooking station with storage, refrigeration, and of course a built-in grill. Plunge/cocktail pools, which have been gaining in popularity for their versatility and visual appeal, are a must for Texas backyards of almost any size.

Kitchen Remodel
When I see a kitchen with lots of natural wood/brown and beige tones with Santa Cecilia or Venetian Gold countertops, my first suggestion is to try and get some color in there! That can be done with painting the walls or cabinets, or a fun color on a feature/statement wall if available. You can of course replace the countertops, or even just the cabinet pulls to make a statement that more fits your style.
Once we found a color we liked for the cabinets (Sherwin Williams Inky Blue) and the Miseno Springfield pulls in Champagne Bronze, it was down to selecting a quartz countertop. In the after picture below you'll see the popular Vicostone Misterio quartz counters, and I love the decision to have Mannington Sanctuary Shell White Oak floors flow all through the ground floor!

Front of House Landscaping.
After wonderfully restoring this home following damage from Hurricane Katrina, the owners wanted to address the front yard landscaping. In the after pics we can see Let's Dance Sky View Hydrangeas and Boxwoods on the left, and Wax Myrtles on the right.
